4 Reasons Why I Chose to Work With Squarespace Over Any Other Platform
There are many platforms that have the software to build a website if web development and coding aren't your jam. With Squarespace, Wordpress, Wix, and others, it’s hard to know which to choose.
Here are the 4 main reasons why I chose to work with Squarespace over all the other design platforms out there.
Squarespace allows me to build clean + beautiful websites.
This is really the biggest and most important reason why I decided to go with Squarespace.
Sure, there was certainly a learning curve in the beginning and I invested in more than one online course on the subject. Approximately 200 hours (and counting) worth of study, practice, and mistakes. But I have to say, it was worth it and I learned a lot.
The capabilities Squarespace gives me to build something totally unique and customized to each client without worrying about broken links and inconsistencies is priceless.
Squarespace gives me the chance to teach clients how to maintain their websites.
I’m sure you’ve heard stories about (or even experienced first hand) web designers that build you a site and then say bon voyage, leaving you high and dry to fend for yourself. Or if they don’t do that, they charge an arm and a leg retainer to keep your website from falling apart.
While there is a wealth of knowledge to be learned on Squarespace, it is also extremely easy to do what you need to once it’s been explained.
Squarespace gives me the ability to show clients how to confidently keep their site healthy and even customize it as they please once it’s built. With an hour long phone call or a few tutorials I can teach each client how to manage their blog, swap out text + photos, and make other changes without a sweat! No more worrying about pressing the wrong catastrophic button or doing something that makes the design look weird. It’s all breezy.
Once I have built a new website I can trust that it will stay intact. Squarespace has such a wonderfully organized structure that it makes my Type A heart just pitter patter. When I put things in place they stay. When I build something it doesn’t break. I can totally trust it.
Another bonus? Should anything go awry their customer service is seriously a dream. Call them beep them if you wanna reach them, they are there to help and super enthusiastic about it along the way.
Since I do a lot of my marketing on social media (like a lot of other businesses) it’s important that my website is not only is mobile friendly, but also looks amazing on a smart phone. Thanks to Squarespace analytics, I know that 43% of my visitors view my website on a smart phone. Because of the mobile optimization capabilities, I don’t have to worry about my website falling flat on a smaller screen. Hallelujah.
